45 (but the wife is 35 :-)) - came from a Range Rover with the BMW 4.4 v8 and the Volvo XC90 3.2 is just soooo slow by comparison (but quiet, reliable and far more economical).
I did have a run of Volvo's in my 20's.... and a dog and caravan then too!

Did you get the R Design due to a mid life crisis?

I solved the problem. The XC90 is the wifes car, and I have a Lotus Carlton and Suzuki 1200 Bandit (amongst others). They can't laught at me with 377bhp because they can't keep up with me!

No, although I like the look of it, it was a car the dealer had ordered for stock so they did a good deal and I could have it the following month. Good car except over pot-holed roads and then low profile tyres/stiff suspension take their toll on passenger comfort.

Glad you finally rose to my post!
I took up off road motorbikes for my 40th having aspired to an XC90 for several years getting one at 38. Nice towing car though! 1st Vlov was a V40 aged late 20's I think - great for weekend camping/windsurfing/mountain bike trips. Like others everyone in their Golfs/A3's/3 series took the p1ss until they needed some furniture moving/holidays/kids came along ....! |
