Default Fitting links

There is a correct way round to fit these, ie Bolt facing in or bolt facing out. This is to avoid it catching on other parts of the car, steering, suspension. Always put things back the way they came out unless you know it was wrong from the beginning.

By following the guide and how they were taken out they were put in the correct way. The correct way is shown in the picture but they are rubbing / knocking.

Hi Gatos,

Just wanted to say thanks for the guide, changed my drop links today.

The grinder was needed for all four bolts - in the end I decided not even to risk my T30 after the first bolt dissolved in crumbly rusty goodness...

For any one else buying phase 2 ones mine were 267mm with a M10 bolt. The eBay cheap ones I bought had a M12 bolt and despite the encouragement of the vendor I wasn't keen on drilling the holes to fit them. The eurocarparts ones fitted fine. I didn't want to spend too much on fancy ones as I'm tight and don't mind doing the job again in a few years as using the grinder on the car on the drive makes me feel very manly! :-)

Cheers,

David.

Just before I order a standard ARB link (30884179) from FRF, does anyone know the part number for the uprated ARB links that are listed on the Sports suspension variety? Or is it just the rear ARB that's uprated on the Sports?

EDIT:
pretty sure having thought about it, it's the rear ARB that's uprated

Yes, fronts are all 19mm, except for the "Overseas Comfort Chassis" 17mm, which is US only I think.

I took Gatos' advice and rather than pay £40 for another Volvo link from FRF, I've saved £15 and ordered two Meyle HD links for £25.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291262086179

That £15 pays for the labour to change the genuine one I ordered in July that doesn't need changing... and I'll pass that on as a spare to pay for the labour for fitting the other one...

I don't fancy fitting these myself mainly as the knackered one needs grinding off and I don't have any axle stands nor room to do it yet. Plus this job is cheap enough to get a pro to do it. And this time he can't do the wrong side as he's doing both

Another great guide lost in the forums. Is there a person responsible for moving guides to the articles section?

Report it to admin or send them a message. They just create a shadow copy of the first post and link back to the original thread.
