No but I have recently stood on Oxon's highest point. And not many people can (truthfully) say that.... It was courtesy of a Volvo driver too.

I find the use of the word "high" and your headlining mentioned in the same sentance as more then mere coincidence !!!!!!

Hi DWM

Just seen this and I am...stunned!

To be honest, it looks like a truly professional installation and could be taken as a pro-fit.

Is it distracting, when you drive?

I know the stripes are meant to be camouflage, but you aren't on the African Savannah, LOL!

Laney, stop encouraging him!

Gary

Coming from you that's a real compliment - thank you. Photos are always a bit kinder than the reality - it's certainly not perfect - but it's more than good enough for me and I was variously pleased/relieved/amazed by the result, given that I was doing it.

I don't notice it at all when driving - it's sufficiently far out of the central field of vision. I just have to look rather more carefully than you usually would before setting off to check for zebras clinging to the roof.

Default Burning question

Is the rooflining white with black stripes or black with white stripes? The former would be more in keeping with the car's exterior colour.

IMO it is QUITE CLEARLY white with black stripes, and I am glad that this is the 'correct' way for it to be, though utterly mystified by the connection with the exterior colour. Is this question truly burning, I wonder?

I sent the pics to a friend (one who disapproves of 'this kind of' Volvo: "Oh no, not one of those ones that look like hearses", she says; and then, rather boldly for her, "Is it a 940?"....) and the reply she sent me referred to "the Siberian tigers". I mean, for goodness' sake.

Literally? No, quite the reverse (though I haven't actually clapped eyes on her since about 1996 - when, however, I'm pretty sure it was her real colouring I was looking at). Metaphorically? You tell me.

Nice headlining! Maybe you'll start a trend!

Picking my 740 GLE up in a couple of weeks time and that also needs a new headlining. I don't suppose you took enough pictures to be able to create an "idiots guide" to renewing the headlining for complete novices like me?

While i wait in hope of a thread detailing how to do it (not being pushy or owt!) i'm going to get some shuteye and dream of weird and wonderful headlining materials!

I do have a few pictures which I'll aim to put up, with a bit of a description of what I did, later today.

I refrained from attempting a full guide at the time, mainly because the job terrified me in advance and I didn't want to be stopping all the time to take pictures since I feared never getting it done within the time available.
