Nail, head and all that..
At last another person who buys a car for a reason other than the badge that's been glued to it

I agree. I find the Kia Cee'd more desirable than a Golf for example. Prefer the styling and the package as a whole, better value and likely just as capable.

Kia have moved mountains in the last few years, and a lot of their offerings are as good as,if not better in some repects than the main players. They still have the age old 'image' problem, although are distancing themselves from that slowly but surely.

Regards

Agreed.

Skoda being another example. The superb has been awarded "Car of the year" in many magazines I believe and is terrific value for money. Honestly I would never rule any of these cars out.

The Skoda Octavia VRS is fast, affordable, and very built, what's not to like?

Kia not that long back released the "Sportage"

I think on the exterior they did a fantastic job and apparently it drives very well!

Seen many of these about and they always get a second glance.

Kia, Hyundai, Skoda are all on the way up and there is no signs of losing momentum. Bet you none of the big players like Ford for example predicted that the underdogs would pose a real threat to their established models.

I am sorry Volvo2002, I simply can not stand looking at any car coming from the far east, may be they are reliable, but they look very dull and awful. I think the designers at Kia, Huyndai, Nissan and the likes have to have many years of schooling to catch up with the NORM.
I honestly prefer to fix any lousy mechanical problem of any european car, once or twice a year and not get stucked with the elipse design of a Hyundai product. It looks to me as if their designer is stucked not knowing what to do next, if you know what I mean.

I do not like SUVs unless it's either a Range Rover (careful with those too), a Wagoneer or at least an Explorer - it's a fashion thing, especially the mini-me SUVs like the XC60/Freeloader/Squashguy etc.
Sorry guys, with comments like these I have lost the will to live...who needs this??

Unfortunately, they did move mountains but backwards.
Design is an art and culture, you can not ask something from a person who simply does not have it!

On design, I tend to agree and think they have but just copied others.

The cars are though a lot better than they used to be and have more desirability, whilst being reliable and well built and (used to be!!) good value for money.Certainly not premium, and never will be, I suppose!

Regards
