The extra long estate would also be my choice over the Limo but as I have never heard of one here in england then The Limo would have to do.
I'm still annoyed that I didn't buy the cheaper one for £511. All boils down to facilities or lack of.I was actually hovering over the bid button five minutes before it ended. And If they had been completely rust free I was willing to spend a lot more. Lanky have you seen the 240 hearse? Now that really can carry long timbers. There was one for sale in australia a little while ago.Truly amazing as it had no fibre glass roof.It was like a stretched estate but with only two front doors The roof was steel and flat as in the estate.A single deck hearse. The auto gear lever was in the dash about where the fresh air vent would be(right hand drive)and it had a bench seat driver and two passengers up front. If I knew how I would take the piccies I had and put them on here. I will try but don't hold your breath. Regards Brian. Some extra long estates to be going on with. At those prices, you're more likely to see them on the track than anywhere else. There was probably hundreds of banger drivers watching them.
Limo's are very popular on the track and the extreme rarity of the 264's makes it worth paying a lot more than usual. I went to check if there was anything on oval chat about these but I forgot all my login details as I've not gone on there for 12mths or more. |

The suggestion of a group forum buy would have been a brilliant idea actually if a number of members in a similar geographical area would have been interested. We will see if any of them pop back up on the bay due to the sale falling through I guess, or if anyone has purchased one but not yet owned up! |

Although 240 series limos are pretty much unheard of I think one appearing on track would not create that much excitement. Its only us Volvo perverts who get excited over cars like these!
Now a Volvo 240 hearse or estate limo, that would turn a few heads!

Much as I slightly disapprove of banger racing, would be fun to see how a factory 264 limo would stack up against the common as muck granada limos and the other cheap conversions!
I have asked a banger racing friend who knows a lot of people to keep me posted if anything turns up on these. |
