Cheers Venom. I'm taking some of the s**t will go into cylinders which may give a puff of smoke. Is it normal?

Literally is what it is taking the edges from the flap of the throttle body to help resolve the starting issues.

Thanks for the reply Ninja, the housing is plastic, is the flap metal?

Do you just knock the edge off with a mini-file/emery cloth?

I guess you mean take the sharp edge off to make it blunt?

Sorry to ask so much, just had this issue and am off work this week so was going to give it a try...

No the flap is plastic you just need to take the edges off to stop it gumming up with rubbish which leads to starting problems.

Is there a similar thread for D5 models.

P.S. WD40 can be used to clean out the throttle body, no need to buy carb cleaner specially for this as most people have a can of WD.

I would definitely avoid WD40 if I was you but only my opinion.

anyone with a twin for 05, does the right hand flap feel like it has 3-4 stages and the left hand one have a nice smooth action? I have a problem with the right hand side. The little black pipe keeps coming off + it does not fit very tightly, looks like a straight bit of pipe then plastic joining bit then a 90 degree bit of rubber pipe (is they even a part number for that?)

Thanks

Paul
