I got a code from Volvo and found the same code written on the coding page of the owner's manual. But its not the correct code.
Local dealer says that the radio must be bad and it needs to be replaced. Most likely, the radio has been replaced and the database is incorrect, but I cant get and answer... What was the cut the diodes trick? Will it work on the SC-811 radio? Thanks. |

I am still in shock. After 2 days of frantically search the web, calling dealers and emailing code-givers on the net, I found the code stenciled inside the ashtray.
And it worked on the first try... |

Protecting radio code
Hope this is not too far off thread - I have mislaid my code, but I know I will find it in time. However, I need to carry out some maintenance requiring battery removal (detailed in another thread). Is it OK to connect another battery in parallel throughout the process, so system is still live, or are there other implications of which I should be aware?

Depends if you are removing the battery to gain access or if you are working on other electrical equipment which would make it a safety consideration.

Sorry for delayed response - access only - no electrical work to be undertaken

Looking for a radio code for a 2000 S40
Please can you help me finding a radio code for my original Volvo radio in my mk1 2000 reg S40 GDI
This is an Irish car reg 00 KE 6488. I have sent the VIN to FRF Swansea using the online form after reading the advice not to put it here publicly. Simon, if you see this, please can you let me know if you received my VIN correctly although I am not sure if you will be able to get a radio code for an Irish car. I tried to send it as a message through the forum but it was not possible as I do not have enough posts. Thanks for your help! |
