Default Faith

The assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen!
I have faith that Mr Smith's 940 will show a good bhp/whp number when it all comes together. A figure of ~270 is twice the original power of a LPT 940 and takes a substantial financial and time commitment.
I don't see many FWD volvos with twice the original power apart from one or two that have the support of a garge behind them.
Getting things performing right on the day of a Dyno can be tricky and one of the outcomes surely is to see what the car should be producing and what it actually produces, which can later be used as a basis for diagnosis
Quoting a figure of 350 whp is I'm sure based on what it should produce given the components working correctly. I don't think Carl has plucked a figure out of the air. It is based on good understanding from working on redblock engines for a few years at least. And if I remember correctly he has previously owned a FWD Volvo with high power figures.
Saying you don't understand the term WHP is frankly idiotic.
Putting a (304 bhp) Rica map on an 850 is a much shorter route to getting 300bhp when the car has 225+ to start with anyway as the engine/head has much better flow than a <200bhp B230.

I'll get my LPT on the rollers soon, got to fit new leads and sort the airbox and filter out so it can breath first but i'm signed off with my bad shoulder at the mo so getting anything done is hard work.

Its got a MBC on it but is otherwise stock so the graph should show what a near stock redblock graph looks like.

Hi Smithy, I have every faith that your car will put down BIG power very shortly and shut up the usual doubters you get on every forum.

For the the people doubting and saying Smithy posts bogus dyno plots etc
I have spoken to Smithy about my car for advice and discussed the spec and plans for his own car. The only thing me and Smithy don't agree on is HLM's competence lol

All I can say is his car is nearly there, so the critics and doubters best be ready to eat a lot of humble pie.

There are RWD Volvo's here that will embarrass few high BHP FWD ones.
Just because there is no treads of them, don't mean they don't exist!!
Just recently, some people in Scandinavia have used few white blocks, reliability with big power is issue..Long live red block!
People have different preferences, and just shooting someone down, because they don't fit the norm of "fwd Volvo tuning" is just plain stupid!
You ever had a ride in "proper" tuned RWD Volvo?
I have personally nothing against you FWD boys, we are just doing different thing, under same Volvo flag!

The figures Smithy had are mild, and more is to come!
Obviously your not familiar wit capability of red block engines!
Do some research, before you knock down someone's hard efforts and commitment.
