Hi Terry, Mine shows several thin lines now but just to confuse you it did originally show just one line after the service and changed the following day to the several lines - make of that what you will Haha !!!!

Hi,
Mine too seems to increase the oil level, I have 6264 miles on and it's due to go for its first service in 3 weeks.

It has had the warning light on before due to high oil level so went in to have it drained and the guage was showing half full.

It has slowly been rising again and will probably have the warning on before its service.

If the oil is 0w20 and its being diluted I hope its not damaging the engine.

Well after noticing a couple of times in the status app that it seemed to be over filled with oil, this morning I got the dashboard warning light as well.

My car has now done just over 30k, but its first service was some miles ago now so something has been "refilling" the oil and it wasn't me!

I guess I will speak with Volvo assist and see what they say....

A thought occurred to me if the high temperatures were had this summer might have something to do with all these issues? Or is it that we all drive less over summer and therefore the car doesn't get a chance to passively regenerate?

I ask because as mine is only just 1 year old and has covered 30k you can tell that I don't exactly fit the profile for someone whose vehicle will need an active regeneration!

Hi steve, the garage that did the work rang me Friday afternoon. Volvo tech advised them that it is normal to see the single line after a service / oil change but it should appear normal again after a 30 mile + journey. My commute is only 25 miles each way and I didn't really use the car at all this weekend so unfortunately, I can't confirm if this does indeed set the indicator back to how it was.?

Hi Terry, thanks for coming back and letting me know about the "disappearing" single line after a service for 30 miles, must say I've never had a car before with so many little extras!!. Interested now to see if your oil level is made from single lines and not solid as per the ad blue?

Not to be left out I've now got one of those warnings on the 'oil guage' It goes red and says Oil Overfilled.. Nothing on the dashboard yet. 32 months old, 18300 miles, 7300 since last service Fairly low mileage but high percentage motorway/fast A roads. In the last month just over 1000 miles 700 plus of which were motorway / fast A roads. Very little urban. No evidence of a regen. ( loss of start/stop, obvious fuel increase, cooling fan running etc) As for change of engine note? With my hearing?!!!!!!) It goes in on Wednesday no doubt for a ' software update, Sir.

And I made the above prediction without a crystal ball! I now have a guage showing a little above 40% up the scale. Try pursuading a service receptionist that although overall mileage low most of it has been on fast roads. When he suggested that they might have overfilled it with oil at the last service (8300 trouble free miles ago) I gave up.
