Please remember my car is an auto so getting true figures for it is hard. Adam has already stated awhile back that upto 100 BHP can be lost through an auto box. So if you believe that my car is pushing around 290-300bhp.....so maybe not all that bad really. I can easly out drag Civic Type R's with 200bhp and Honda S2000's as well as most BMW's including 330's. So I guess not much can be wrong with my car.
Regards Iain

Don't forget mid ranges ! Not just ultimate power here !
If I had 300bhp all the way through the rev range . . . :) Chris ________________________________________________ http://chriswhiteuk.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/sava.jpg with a few go faster modifications . . http://chriswhiteuk.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk |

So if my car is so bad how come 330 BMW's can't keep up? Believe a 330's figures are: Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 255(190) / 6600 Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM: 221(300) / 2500 Regards Iain

Else your car will feel like a very fast diesel and will have no traction in the low revs!! A flat torque curve is an ideal characteristic to aim for. Adam. |

Believe a 330's figures are: Power bhp (kW) at RPM: 255(190) / 6600 Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM: 221(300) / 2500 So you'll say the BMW wasn't trying...well he was because he's a friend. Does this mean my Knackered car is really knackered....hmmmm....NOPE don't think so. Regards Iain

BTW, PE >do also record wheel horsepower readings on their PC and in my >experience, its pretty accurate; you just have to ask. Indeed it was a manual and that is a fair point, however those figures do still seem on the very low side. Maybe a tranny oil cooler would help and allow a bit more to be gained? Maybe you do just have to ask for the WHP figure, but that is the point; You have to ask. In my eyes you should ask for the crank estimate not the other way round. WHP is real, and what counts at the end of the day. Also you are correct in that no two cars are the same. :) Later, Dan. |

So for most of the rev range, the T5 will have more torque. And a modified T5 will have even more torque! Adam. |
