Yes, leather will crease and get what I think is called a 'patina' or sheen.

On which model are the pictured seats? It doesn't look like Nappa leather and standard Momentum models don't have perforated leather. Maybe its an option?

The single folded seam shown has been replaced by a double folded join to the seam bolster, as shown in the useful American attachment in an earlier post. I wouldn't be surprised if the seats shown in the three pictures are eligible for a warranty replacement.

Shock,Horror - XC90 driver arrested for driving nude. But Officer 'he was quoted as saying' the main dealer told me that clothes spoil the leather seats.
Main dealer refused to comment! Cheers,JD.

Your seats look really shiny.
Thank you, I appreciate your comments.
The seats are matt- think my phone has not been too truthful,.

The creases and stitching, are is.
The dealer has been very open but I do wonder if they are that bothered about after sales.

I find the blond interior fantastic, but fear it will be to difficult to keep clean.
I also don't like the looks of a patina on light colored leather very much.
In an effort to avoid all kinds of "problems" with the leather I not only opted for the basic
Moritz leather, I also choose the basic seats (lower bolsters) and charcoal color.
The dark color won't develop less creases than a lighter one but they won't show as much.

Thanks for your reply. Is this a knowledgeable fact in your ecxperience or hopeful opinion?
I would appreciate any facts that I can return the car to them with.

Nearly 30 years old and just short of 170,000 miles on the clock, and leather still looking good, I wonder if Volvo new leather seats will even last half that without falling apart. Check out the photos.

Not a chance that mine will manage a tenth of that.
Things just aren't designed to last anymore

My Land Cruiser is about the same age and slightly more milage and looks just as good.
I'm hopeful that current Volvo's will prove to be at least as long lasting, if indeed the type of vehicle made today will be relevant in 30 year's time.

Here is a picture taken last year in high contrast monochrome. In actual fact the seats are light grey and the scratches on the passenger seat are hardly noticeable. Not sure what item of junk I carried did them actually and the driver's seat hasn't got these slight blemishes. It could be due to my tripod, but unsure.

Version 3 (7).jpg

The light tan leather seats on my 60,000 mile Honda still look like new. Well, there is very slight wear in the seam of the driver's seat which really has to be looked for.

In my XC70, only the parts touching the body are leather, all the rest is "eco-leather", vinyl.
That isn't a problem, it is durable and looks the same as the leather.
I wonder if that also applies to the XC90.
