Does she have xenon headlights? If she does then she may find that you can change the direction of dip in the XC70 also

Perhaps that's the solution that Volvo will choose for the XC60 after it receives a barrage of email as a result of this thread

I got a resonse from Volvo UK - polite but non-committal. Basically, they have passed my comments to the factory in Sweden.

Mountain Goat and Mike H thanks for the contact info. As before, a polite yet non committal response from both parties.

Well, I just got my XC60 back from it's service, and as expected there isn't currently an update to allow permanent selection of RH lights.
Though it does sound promising that there may be a solution soon, as the comment on my service report reads - "Headlight fault rectification is currently being worked on by Volvo Technical. We will contact you when we have received a solution" So fingers crossed, someone may actually be working on this now. |

Nothing at all about being "unfortunate" it is quick and easy, a couple of minutes each headlight and just as quick to change back - it does not reset itself every time you start the car up. The drawing shown in your reply "jimbg" is also in my 2009MY handbook but bears little resemblance to the actual headlight unit as the angle of the photo is all wrong. This is what mine looks like: (Thank you Martin42)

Thanks got posting the information GrantA. My Volvo dealer told me yesterday that the lights (active xenon) cannot be adjusted on V70s and the only way was to use tape like you would on a halogen headlamp.
