Default Clutch replacement

So wanting to replace my clutch and wondering if using LUK clutches would be advisable? on a P2 S40? .. or Sachs? Any ideas on the Volvo clutch prices?

Oh and I'd like to run by my cars actual symptoms...

From cold when left for hours, you can drive away and when you lift off the car harshly shunts forward like something is holding it back! After a mile or so it loosens up and the car feels normal!

Mechanic that listened to the car with the clutch up diagnosed it as a sticking release bearing!

I'm installing a LUK clutch in the car now. Nothing wrong with it.

Not sure the Volvo clutch price. If your replacing the DMF at the same time expect to look at £400+ Give Rufe a ring and ask for a quote.

I know the Volvo clutch release bearing is £112.90.

Nope, just a clutch replacement itself. Flywheel is fine

Cheers btw

Have you done a detailed inspection of the DMF after removing it ??

It can be a big mistake to use a normal clutch kit and not change the DMF, or worse still, find out the gearbox synchros are kaput after fitting a new clutch.

LUK or one of the ZF owned transmission parts companies are probably going to be cheaper than using real Volvo parts. The ZF Sachs parts have a 4 year warranty IF all the parts are changed.

LUK clutches are what Volvo fit anyway, had one installed in mine last year and have done 21000 mile now with no issues.

If the gearbox synchros were buggered after fitting a new clutch you'd swop the gearbox. You wouldn't have to touch the clutch again.

As SkyShip said, it would seriously be worth replacing the DMF as well while it's in pieces, it's almost foolish not to!

You don't want to pay to do the same job twice

TBH I don't see the need to change the flywheel if it's simply a bad release bearing! Seems a big expense to me! I'd rather risk it than pay £300-£400 for a flywheel. Can't be the only one that has changed the clutch and left the flywheel? I'm sure plenty have without issues.
