Default What silicone sealant is suitable?

Someone or something removed the plastic lens cover to the reversing light on our Volvo. Pleasingly, I have found a replacement cover at relatively modest cost. It says I should use a silicone sealant to fix it, Volvo part number 1161238, but this is not available anywhere except one place in the USA at $31 + $16 shipping. I can't find a specification for this sealant. Can anyone guess at a suitable replacement readily available in the UK, please?

It has been suggested I use https://www.halfords.com/motoring/pa...ne-sealant-40g which is satisfyingly cheap. Would that be ok?

This Granville black sealant is very good. I have used it to seal my front windscreen and rear o/f side lamp cluster on my 740.Check it out on ebay for competitive costs.

I have also used this stuff for all manner of sealing jobs not just on the cars, but general diy as well. Never let me down and convenient as it comes in small tubes and once opened soon 'goes off'. Comes in clear as well, so would be good for lenses etc.

For good clean lines, I apply masking tape down the side of the joint, apply the sealant and smooth off with a smooth knife or wet finger and then remove the masking tape. It is important to smooth off down to the masking tape so there is only the thickness of the tape left along the edge. If that makes sense
