Lightbulb 15’ S60 whistle sound when a/c or heater is on

This is my first post so please bare with me,

I recently began to hear a whistle like sound whenever the a/c or heater is on in my 2015 Volvo S60 (~110,000 km). When I turn the fan off the whistle sound stops but within 5-10 seconds of turning it back on even at a low setting the whistle begins again. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it may be? Also how much repairs usually cost or if I could repair it myself? Thanks in advance.

I had a similar issue with my V60 2015. The sound was most noticeable from the drivers side A pillar fan unit which is connected to the a/c system, caused by insufficient refrigerant in the low pressure a/c circuit leading to cavitation within the system. Cured the problem by topping up the refrigerant, Groupon sometimes have good offers for a/c service. The noise didn't disappear completely but 90% better.

Thank you for that, the noise seems to be coming from the centre of the car rather than the drivers side but that’s not something I thought of so I definitely will try that out. Thank you so much.

My 61 s60 started to do this this morning but this afternoon everything was fine.I was wondering if the freezing weather had anything to do with it.Last week it didn't recognise my phone.
