Volvo S60 2L D3 11plate - wont start
Hello guys,
I jumped in my car, started engine everything fine and after minute or so engine suddenly stopped running and it wont start now. Month ago done full service @ volvo. Using better grade diesel.. there is another 10K miles on clock to change timing belt. There was no warning before this happened and there is no warning lights on dash. Any thought welcome! |

That doesn't mean the fuel filter was changed.
Is it itemised on the invoice?

I don`t have invoice on hand, Ill check it later. So, if you doing annual oil/filters change, that doesn`t mean that they will change fuel filter?

If you've been charged for a fuel filter, we'll assume that it's definitely been done so if you're going to solve this yourself, (and it's nothing obvious like air in the fuel lines), you'll need some form of diagnostics to see the engine coolant temperature the fuel rail pressure and battery voltage during cranking.
This will help you establish whether the problem is fuel or electrical. An ELM327 dongle (Bluetooth for Android, WiFi for ios) with a phone app (Torque Pro for Android, OBD Fusion for ios) will give you very useful data for less than £10 on Android or £20 on ios.

You say you jumped the car? Why was this needed? Checked the fuses in case you've blown one? Also you say there is no warning lights etc, do any of the lights on the dash work?

When the engine just stopped were there any other noises?
Have you looked at the belts are they all still intact? How many miles has the car covered? Strange for a running engine to just stop. Can you switch the ignition on without trying to start the engine e.g. checking the oil level. Do you get the normal lights? When you try to start does the engine try to turn or not, do the lights just dim/go out?

When you open bonnet, them visible belts still in place, not sure if there is another one. All dash lights on which should be when ignition is on. its 98K on the clock. Engine turns when you trying to start, just there is no spark.
