Default 2017 XC60 strange locking issue

Hi all, car was super frozen this morning and doors wouldn’t open until defrosted a bit. Since then, the driver’s side doors (f+r) will not lock or unlock using the buttons on the door handles or by pulling the door handle to unlock. Passenger’s side works for both as it should. All doors lock and unlock on the key fob buttons.

Cleared DTCs and one still comes back U0001(11) which suggests CAN bus circuit short to ground. Related?

Any ideas what I should be looking for with both these issues?

So I’ve looked at a few threads and YouTube videos and it appears the door lock issue is a common problem where the rear door handle electrical connectors get a bit green and cruddy. The issue is I cannot remove the rear handle. The fronts come off a treat (remove grommet, hold handle open, wind off torx 5 turns and remove the rear cover), but the rear door handles are not playing ball. Any ideas?

Managed to fix this one myself. The issue was that despite winding back the torx screw to release the rear door handle rear cover, the cover was jammed solid due to white crusty residue in the gap. All it needed was a determined wiggle to start to free it loose.

On removing the handle, the cable connector is in a really awkward spot within the door skin, but a very gentle push with a screwdriver popped the connector out.

A liberal squirt of contact cleaner on both halves, an awkward wiggle to get the connector back in place and a few forward/backwards pushes with the connector in place to make a good contact was all it needed. Door buttons now lock properly and door handles now unlock the car on that side.

I tried a multimeter across the four connector pins. The first two are a permanent circuit and the other two are when you press the button.

So if your door lock buttons fail on one side only, you now know (or already did) that this is controlled by the rear door.
