Default Where is it leaking?

The rack on my 1992 940 was leaking last year but upon inspection it wasn’t the rack itself. It was one of the narrow return pipes on the outside of the rack.(similar to metal brake pipe but not identical). The relevant part was no longer available so I had to go to a local steering rack specialist to have a pipe made up to match. Web search will show you various firms purporting to be power steering specialists but I found that they will only deal with the rack itself, (seals etc) not the associated pipework.

Hi, try Lion Automotive Steering. 01924260768/07810800130, www.lionautomotive.co.uk . I have had two racks from them one for an 850 one for aC70. They only recon Volvo racks. You have to pay £100 surcharge till you send the old one back. They collect it free. Steve.

Any good motor factor should be able to supply. Most replacement racks are reconditioned units, including volvos, along with their calipers.

Paul.
