Default Sounds after engine run?

After a run, and turning off the engine, in my newly aquired V70 D3, there is a whirring/buzzing sound from the engine area and a sound like "gas" being expelled. What is this, and is this normal, please?

My 2011 D3 also has noises after turning off. I'd assumed it was to do with flowing coolant and oil to keep temps down when stopped. Turbo timer type thing. Either that or some relays doing something.

My 2013 D3 also makes it, seems to come from a valve? located rear top right of the engine, Can feel it vibrate when making noise.

There's a number of valves that are operated after engine shut off which are controlled on a pulse-width modulation bases (i.e. short sharp pulses rather than variable voltage).

The main ones are the fuel pressure regulator, and the anti-shudder valve (if fitted).

It's normal....

2013 V70 D3 with same symptoms, changed vacuum valve part nr: 31293964 and that fixed the problem. The faulty valve leaked air into the vacuum system, when the buzzing sound stopped, i noticed that the brake pedal was "stiff", because there was no vacuum left in the system.

Default Swirl flap motor calibrating?

I'm wondering if the noise you're hearing is the swirl flap motor calibrating. It does this about every 5 starts on my Euro4 D5 and makes short bursts of whirring amd clicking sounds. This is perfectly normal
