Default 2019 XC90 sun shade random close My 2019 XC90 sun shade USA

My 2019 XC90 sun shade randomly closes. I have the auto close feature turned off. It’s winter here in NJ and this morning it was closed again and it was dark and cold. Is this a known problem and is there a fix?

I mentioned USA because I recall reading some countries have close functions using key fob.

Thanks.

Do you have keyless entry?

Mine does the same with no discernable pattern - eg drive home in winter, -3° temperature, home at 2300, next morning at 0700 the blind is closed. An annoyance---- I WANT TO KNOW WHY!!! - but more have more important things to worry about in reality so have convinced myself its a foible I can live with!

Agreed, more of a mystery than an annoyance but I have to believe it's a known problem and a fix would have been found by now. I imagine a software update could do it??
Volvo doesn't strike me as a "let it go" kind of company.

If you have keyless entry then I will be able to explain the phenomenon.

I have keyless entry and this also happens to my sun visor blind, I would be interested to know why Philip, I know that it closes in summer when the tempersture is hot, is there a clod setting as well.

There is a setting in sensus to allow autoclosure due to outside temperature.

However a long press on the keyless entry pad on the door handle also initiates an auto close of the blind. This long press is surprisingly easy to do. If the car is wet or snowy then this can interfere with the use of the pad to make a short press seem like a slightly longer press and trigger the blind. If you listen after locking you can hear the blind run.

Think of how the locking goes mad when you wash the car and you will understand how water can interfere with the keypad.

In the snow of the last week I noticed the blind was shutting when I locked it as normal. I put this down to snow and snow melt on the side of the car.

Now that you mention it, there have been times when pressing the lock "spot" the response is delayed and I do believe it is when it's wet.
I can't wait to test this out, tomorrow.
Volvo should advertise it as a feature.
I'll report back ASAP.

It is a feature . Long press on close area closes all windows, doors, sunroof and shade. Long press/touch on open area opens the doors and windows (not sure about the shade)

Same goes with the buttons on the remote

Confirmed, long press on lock spot closes the shade, I had no idea, now I have to test the opening.
Is this mentioned in the manual? I read somewhere that the close option was for European models.
