Default 1st Service due and Covid

Just had a reminder that my 1st service is due at the end of the month. Does anyone know what the official Volvo view is on deferring it for a couple of months. The care has done about 4200 miles. Obviously I will contact the dealer tomorrow but I trust them as far as I could throw them. Thanks

Service departments are still working fine. Only difference i am aware of is they won't allow you to wait in their lounge whilst done.

If you are unable to get there due to shielding etc... see if they can do collection and drop off.

Why the need to defer? Servicing is allowed under Lockdown 3.

I was a bit concerned about jumping in the car after the service wore latex gloves, mask and drove home with all windows open!

My dealer has good protocols in place.

You can wait, but are not allowed to wander around.

Car was all cleaned and sanitised before coming back to me. Mechanics seemed to be wearing gloves and masks, and were covering surfaces before driving the car.

I posted as I wondered if anyone had had a conversation on the matter with their dealer. I'll talk to them tomorrow. Given that I've led a life worthy of a Trappist monk for some months now I'd hate to waste the effort. The infection rate here in SW Herts is at the top of the scale and I'm in a vulnerable group

I believe that the original lockdown gave a 3 month extension, but as said elsewhere, service departments are generally open this lockdown . The official line (excluding covid) is up to 1 months or 1000 miles

Our service went ahead as normal last week. They came and picked up the car and delivered it back when done, just as usual.

My first service happening as I type. Had to rearrange 2 weeks later than originally planned as I was self isolating but has all gone seamlessly so far. Dropped the car in at 8am as they opened and was driving off in the loan car a matter of a few minutes later. Just had a text to say its ready for collection from 1pm. Hopefully they've done everything I wanted them to...

What about collect and return, then air the car before using again?
