I stay in a bit of Scotland that gets a fair bit of snow, in the last couple of weeks there’s on been a single night the car hasn’t been covered I. Either snow or a hard frost.
I’ll still take the HUD anyday. A couple of cars ago I had a heated windscreen on a number of cars (fords and skodas) and the lines never bothered me but then I moved to a BMW with aux heating and a HUD and my current Volvo had both parking climate and remote start so I chose the HUD again. But even if I didn’t have aux heating I think I’d still choose a hud over a heated screen as it’s only the winter you use the heated screen assuming you keep your glass clean where as the hud just makes life so nice, especially in low mph speed limits like 20s. |

You must be up near me! Aberdeenshire here.. and it’s been cold a frosty for over a fortnight now.. can’t remember the last time I didn’t go out and start the car for 10 minutes before leaving the house...

I was in trouble tonight as SWMBO has been taking the car recently (despite only a 20min walk to work) as I'm WFH and I hadn't turned on the parking climate for her coming out of work (she can't have a mobile on her at work and it's too far from her locker of the apple watch app to work). Hopefully if I keep "forgetting" she'll start walking. |

I chose the Heated Windscreen in my new V60 (first Volvo). I've had several cars with them over the years starting with a Ford Sierra Estate in 1989 and always found them invaluable. However the pre-conditioning options on the V60 might make it less essential.
Any thoughts from anyone who's had a heated windscreen in the past but now only uses the remote pre-conditioning? |

If yes, no need for heated windscreen. If no, remote start takes forever to heat the engine sufficiently to demist the windscreen, so the heated windscreen is great.

Question..... can you do preheating without VOC?
Because there’s an option to set time and date to precondition car on the sensus but I don’t have VOC and set the precondition but then comes up with precondition unavailable Only thing I can think of is because I don’t have voc. Don’t want to pay £60 for two years just to preheat the car on the odd occasion. I wouldn’t use any of th3 other features. |

I had an XC90 2015 First Edition, with all the goodies (including HUD), and now I have an XC90 2018 R Design Pro without half of the goodies, one of them being the HUD and I miss it so bad!
I also have a Discovery Sport 2016 with both, HUD and heated windscreen.... cmon Volvo, how hard can it be! |
