This worked for mine, start stop stopped ages ago, then after a holiday started, then stopped, always saying battery was the issue.

Charged up the battery with external (ring) charger, no joy. Tried this hack today and worked straight away

Will give it another big charge tomorrow but out for a trip earlier and worked fine

2013 SE LUX V60 with LCD style dash.

I recently replaced my 2014 D6 PHEV AGM battery.

The good news is you DON'T need VIDA.

Switch On Ignition do not start car.

Switch on dipped beam

Press 6 times the rear fog light switch

Press 3 times the hazard button

The little battery light in the speedo sould now flash 3 times quickly.

If it does not. Wait 20 seconds before trying again.
Those button presses - is that actually double?
eg, press rear fog light on then off 6 times - 12 presses, then hazards on then off 3 times - 6 presses?

My now-little-used XC60 has not had stop-start working for some time, so I plan to start a 48+ hour charge later and then follow on with the BMS reset procedure.
It is 6 years and 80k+ miles in, so within realms of the battery (or both batteries) needing replacing....gulp!
Is there a way to check the status of the smaller support battery?

The 48hr charge and then leaving it overnight always gets my stop/start working again for a while.

I haven't bothered with the reset procedure as it doesn't seem necessary and I'm not sure whether that's just for when the battery's replaced. I think the low battery warning is a bit over cautious, if it turns over ok in this weather then it should last another 12 months is my view.

press fog 6 times, then hazards 3 IIRC. my SS was wonky for ages, then charged it up (last year very little use) it seemed to be a bit tempremental but all good now. even if i get the battery charging issue it sorts itself out. thats iona 7 year old original battery.

I reset mine almost a year ago and it did seem to fix the problem I was having with the stop/start. I can't really claim it was a long-term fix though, as lockdown has resulted in me hardly using the car in the last 9 months which probably explains why the problem has returned!

I followed the reset technique you described. I found it here and it definitely does work... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iu9z...L02xCmIRvm5nFV

Slightly concerned that the notes below the video state:
This trick is NOT designed to delete LOW BATTERY warning (use other trick: link below)
NEVER use this trick on older battery!
Then adding
OLDER BATTERY:
To temporarily clear the "Low battery" you can disconnect the BMS-plug for 10-20 second.
https://youtu.be/uH9TmL5mHOs

Car will recalculate overnight the State of Charge of battery (without resetting battery age counter to 0 days). You may get rid of "low battery" warning for a while, BUT if battery is not charged over 50-60% SOC, the "low battery" will appear again!
Hmmmm!

Try the 48hr charge and leave overnight first without the reset. The leave overnight seems to be important.

If I charge mine 48hrs and then drive it within a couple of hours, the SS doesn't work due to 'electrical system', even if out for a long drive. However, after charging and leaving it overnight the SS seems to work fine.

think this is basically saying if you have a low battery then it wont fix that, however if you charge the battery (external charger) then this will help?

I did fully charge mine before performing the reset procedure.

Default Replacement batteries

At worst, you may need to replace the battery. You also have a smaller auxiliary battery which may or may not need changing.

I sourced mine from below. Fast delivery and good selection of quality brands.
