Hi.
Apologies, my mistake. If , as you say, the airbag and steering wheel have to come off i don`t think there`s much to worry about so long as the battery has been disconnected and time allowed for residual power in the modules to run down. As far as i can see the most akward bit is removing the airbag from the steering wheel. Once that`s out of the way everything either unbolts or unscrews. |

Update:
I managed to remove the old wiper stalk without having to remove the steering wheel. Unfortunately, the part I had bought from a forum member doesn't fit, even though it looks exactly the same from the outside and is from a similar year car. The new part has 10 pins and my part has 9. So I've ordered the correct part 2nd hand from eBay and it should arrive next week.
