Default Anyone know what these are ?

Evening all,

Apologies for the vague title description.

Does anyone know what the following exposed/unconnected connections are for ?

1st one;
Bottom of the cup holders, I suspect something is missing like a cover on the bottom of the unit ? (Apologies, again, on the mess within, I recently purchased the vehicle and haven't had chance to give it the thorough clean it deserves)

2nd one, 2 photos;
I come across this when checking underneath the bonnet, it is on the passenger side wing.

Would appreciate any help provided

Thanks in advance

For picture 1 there should be the RSE/Aux switch. This is to play sound for the DVD player through the car speakers. The switch only costs a few quid from Volvo. There is also a plastic fitting to hold the switch that you are missing.

I'm sure the ones on the wing at the air filter holder are for the auxiliary lighting for the front bumper when fitted.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for the reply.

I've found the part number for the RSE/Aux switch to be 31324132.

If anyone could confirm the part number for the plastic fitting to hold the switch, that would be great... Thanks!

Thank you for the reply.

Um, quite odd how it is left unconnected, can't see volvo fitting a loom if the vehicle doesn't have auxiliary lighting? I'll have a look about if able to find another cable which fits together.

Thanks again.

When you're dealing in the manufacture of tens of thousands of units, it's more cost effective to produce and carry inventory for one or two general purpose variants, with a few pennies worth of redundant copper and connectors in each, rather than produce and fit one specific to each possible equipment variant.

I have the exact same connector, unused, on my XC90.

Out of interest, is yours just left exposed unconnected?
