Default Siphoning wrong fuel Volvo V50

Evening all,

Just took a call from the wife saying she's put unleaded in instead of Diesel, £25 worth.

AA picking car up, but what's the best way of solving this? Should I just fill the rest up with diesel or is there a better way of getting the unleaded out? Would assume siphoning will be difficult in most cars these days?

Volvo V50, 58 plate.

TIA

I think with that much fuel you won’t get away with topping it up with the correct amount. If £1.50 was put in by error then yes but not that much.

I would probably call out one of the flushing teams that visit and get them to do it. I don’t think it’s an easy task to symphon the fuel out and as I understand it a lot of the guys that do this service are not that expensive.

Can the AA not deal with it for you?
AA fuel assist

I'd think £25 worth of unleaded in the tank of a V40 might be a bit much to just top up with diesel and run it through.

I did think that would be the case, the AA bloke said I should be fine to do, top it up then buy a new fuel filter. They wanted £200 to do it for her. Will have to get my googling boots on. Cheers.

Aah, so 'No hidden costs' means they just tell you how much they want before they come out
