If the Volvohampton meet was ever repeated id definately go along again. I suspect that next time there would be even more volvo enthusiasts there. Maybe it would be best to find somewehre with a bigger car park? And an open bar!

It was great seeing all those Volvos lined up!

I agree with you Pedro. For me, I feel that us forum performance and modified bods don't really have anything other than the Crooked Billet meets which is too far for some people (me included, 3 hours each way). Of course everybody/car is welcome and hopefully we'll always have a large modified/performance contingency mixing with standard models.

Maybe we can call it simply Volvo Forum Meets? I would love to see some of the older Volvos like Amazons etc which as you say, probably wouldn't be interested in going to an M & P meet.

Anybody else any ideas?

oh yeh we definatley need a regular meet up closer to home, & the idea someone said on the day of having the meets move around the area i also thought was very good

Have you seen some of the nutters who rally amazons I thought I was mad rallying 300's!!!

I'd definately be keen for more meets, I try and make all that I can as it is, and broadening it from (my current) 300 meets and the national is a great idea, if nothing else we are mostly in the same game, keeping the cars used and abused! I was a lot more impressed by the FWD crowd then I expected, though I still don't see the point of going fast if you can't do it sideways

I'd love to see the rallying Amazons - how cool would that be?!!!

Nice to see you and your car at the meet Chris.

At least us fwd (faster wheel drive) go forward very rapidly rather than muck about losing time going sideways

Would be good to arrange a mixed meet with perhaps the same theme, meet up and have a mooch at the cars, then drive to a place for food, perhaps book ahead, we were lucky to find such a big pub that could cater for all of us and provide parking. perhaps drive for a few miles down a pre determined (mutlimapped so no-one can get lost) route between venues in a convoy style!

I'm glad you realise that there is the need for this sort of thing for those whoare not into show and shine. I think there are quite a lot of relatively new owners of 2 and 7 series as well as 850/s?V70s who would like the opportunity to get together and meet other owners and swap ideas and tips. They are not necessarily modified or performance. We need to encourage these as well and not risk putting them off by calling it the wrong thing. The title can be a difficult one but must be such as to encourage any Volvo owners to these meets including those who use thier classic as a daily driver and those with a very fresh standard car. We want those who want to talk Volvo and chat with other owners to come and meet up no matter what they drive - I would hate to think that any of the "show and shine" would not be welcome as well.
Well that's my tuppence worth! What does anyone else think.

Mike

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks to everybody who have replied so far. I agree that we must not exclude anybody or any Volvo car! We just have to come up with a suitable name for the meets that everybody feels happy with!
