20mpg around town and between 24-25mpg on runs over 300 miles in my ‘05 T6.

In contrast, getting around 35mpg around town in a ‘19 D5 Momentum. Interested to see what I can get on longer journeys.

I've driven 2412 miles in the MY2010 D5 185 manual and the OBC is showing 35.2mpg

'03 D5 163 - Just been to Amsterdam and back 5 up, tyres around 38psi and used super diesel, all around 70 -80mph with a few long stretches at 50ish, Averaged around 35mpg not including running around locally. And FYI, No, the only thing I imported back in was 20 bottles of french wine.
Brilliant for a 15 year old 2 tonner.

Tyre pressures something I think a lot of folks ignore and don't adjust for urban an distance driving like that, can make a lot of difference!

I’m getting around 36-37mpg (around 450-475 miles) a tank at the moment which is for mixed driving but no commuting. The car is a 54 plate 163 manual with 240k on it and there is normally 6 persons on board comprising of 2 adults and 4 kids with nokian weatherproof tyres on at 39psi

These posts makes me question my sanity thinking I was going to get a used X90 to complement (or replace) the '02 V70 D5 auto we've had for two years now.

We take the V70 to Sweden and back (obviously) twice a year - last in May.

When parked in the driveway the readout said 55.8 mpg (yes, I know this is probably not correct but pretty dang close I think). Now, after a two months at home doing mainly short runs (not good I know) it says 51.2.

I usually park it at 60 on the road and enjoy the scenery..

I've recently picked up an 09 V70 185 geartronic in excellent condition with FSH and 96k on the clock and the OBC is always between 35 and 35.2, that's doing a 30 mile daily commute which is a mix of town and rural driving, 50 50 split almost exactly. I don't race about in it and I'd expect better on a long run. I haven't done my own calculations yet but I expect it to be a little bit lower when I do. It's about what I expected, as long as it stays reliable I can live with that and think it's reasonable for a big automatic.

That's excellent MPG, I did a 100+ mile round trip at 60mph in XC90 and then did the same trip at 70mph and the mpg reading was slightly higher!!

We are just back from a 2200 mile round trip to the Highlands taking in the North Coast 500 from Poolewe for 10 days & Dunnet Bay for another 10.
Fantastic place but don't expect to get anywhere faster than 35 MPH safely.
Towing the caravan we got 21 MPG on some of the poorest roads in the world.
Going at 60 on cruise on the Mways its a bit better at 26.2 MPG getting there & back
PSI towing is always 42.
Car & caravan.
It is a big car. It was filled with stuff.

FYI the previous car was a V70 tdi Cd Winter Pack. 5 cylinder Audi engine was perfectly balanced for towing on French Mways where the turbo kicked in at 1750 revs doing 90 KPH.
45 MPG towing.
55MPG mWay cruising
45 MPG around town.

07 Geartronic 185BHP. I'm getting about 32 per gallon, roughly. I mostly drive on the motorway between 60 and 80mph.

Filled to the brim I would have the fuel light would come on after covering 360 miles. A full tank would cover about 400miles.

The newer large SUVs over 2 tonnes do not fare much better despite their enthusiastic MPG claims!
