You never need to replace all 5 injectors for any fault so change your mechanic.

Suggest you find an indie who is experienced in diagnosing intermittent faults such as this - I would expect a good one to be able to drive the car whilst taking live readings to help discover what is happening when it stalls.

I had similar problem with Fiat Punto (I know, never buy Italian!) which would cut out when idling every so often. Changed coil pack, throttle module and had ECU checked, but still did it and then it disappeared! Have since part exchanged the car as never got to the bottom of it. My gut feeling is that there possibly was some corrosion in a connector somewhere giving a spurious reading and this may be where your problem lies - if you have some competence might be worth spending the week end cleaning as many electrical connections and earth points that you can get to - you never know.

What crap advice. Changing all 5 sounds like overkill and matey's looking for an extra few quid.
Shop elsewhere 👍👍

About 10 years ago a friend of mine took his 03 plate V70 D5 to a main dealer in Norfolk with a starting problem - diagnosed leaking injector and was told all 5 need to be replaced as they are only sold in 5's and that's Volvo policy.

A call to Volvo customer services and a few transfers got to a helpful chap that explained it's not their policy and they are only sold singularly.....

So as has been said what you really need is a new mechanic. What was the fault you went in with??

It says new injectors and or a fuel treatment.
It doesn't say that a full set of injectors is the only fix.

Ask them what leak back was measured for each injector.

That’s absolute bollox (am I allowed to say that?). Off all 5 injectors where leaking back, the car just wouldn’t start).

Shame you’re not closer, I really think you have a fuel pressure issue, but it could be caused by a £300 pump or a £15 filter.

That was the second mechanic I tried for this issues. All said found error codes related to fuel pressure. First replaced fuel filter , now asking to replace all injectors! it’s a shame I can’t find a good mechanic. Last option I have is Volvo itself

Have they told you what the error codes actually are?

Have a read at this thread and see if you have any similarities, this was my car with what turned out to be an intermittently failing fuel pump (the 1st replacement pump mentioned in the first post was faulty). And a fault with the rail sensor.
