235/60R18 Altantis on 2012 XC90
Good Evening all,
I currently have a 2012 Volvo XC90 with 18" wheels and normal summer tyres. I understand that the current rims are 7.5" wide by 18". I am looking at getting a set of Atlantis Rims which are only 7" wide. Does anyone know if there will fit the 2012 model. I am assuming that the 2003-2014 XC90 rims are compatible across the range but just confused that the 2003 model is 7" Wide and the 2012 7.5" wide. |

If they are listed in the catalogs as compatible, then they will fit.
The sales brochures of the time list the available wheels - have a look. I have 20" Summer and 17" Winter wheels, my Summer wheels are a lot wider than my Winter wheels, all original Volvo wheels

The Mk 1 XC90 had the same size bolt pattern, centre bore and brakes throughout its life so any XC90 wheel will fit any model. The only gotcha might be wheel rub if you fit larger wheels to an earlier model.
Note - the XC90 has a larger centre bore than other P2 Volvo models so wheels from say the 2000-2007 V70, XC70 etc. will not fit even though they may look identical. Note 2 - if you plan to move tyres from existing rims to alternative ones, then you need to check if that rim width is acceptable for that tyre. But as you are dropping rim diameter you will need new tyres anyway. Note 3 - if you are planning to fit winter tyres, there were some 17" wheels fitted to the XC90 - The Neptune 5 spoke was one of them.

I have a 2010 (my 2011) Exec with 19" Galatea wheels.
However, not long after I bought it Volvo tried to sell me a set of Winter tyres on Atlantis wheels. I declined their expensive offer, and I bought some Atlantis wheels off Ebay, and had Winter tyres put on them. I have fitted them to my Exec every winter since then. Note - when they are fitted it looks like there is very little clearance between the wheel and the brake calipers at the front, but I haven't had any problems so far. |
