Default Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please be aware that the following advert is based upon false information!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1971-VOLVO...item1c5119e0e3

I am the 3rd owner of this vehicle and it didn't receive any engine rebuild of any kind and did not attend any Rally or have any historic rally pedigree what so ever.

the only thing in the advert that is correct is that it runs very nicely!!!

Wouldn't want to see anyone get caught out on this one!

Please PM if you want any information on the vehicle

Interesting.

So you were selling it on here for £1000 just a few months ago and now it's up for £3600?

Where has the seller added £2600 worth of value?

Don't get me wrong is had 2 small areas welded (Spare wheel well and front off-side a-pillar bottom) and the front leading edge of the bonnet repaired. The value doesn't concern me at all, it's worth what people will pay for it but to advertise it based upon false information is wrong!

I have called the seller and he has no documentation to back up either of the claims and seems to pass the buck onto the previous owner who I sold the car to. I sold the car on the 25th January 2015!

Hi Andy,

I don't think you have called the seller as that would be me and i am female....

Thankyou for the information you have provided however as it would appear i have been mislead on the history when i bought the car at the beginning of may this year.

He has stuck a roof rack on and a couple of spotlamps and painted the wheels white , it should be easy enough to check with the RALLYE HISTORIQUE LES ALPES, In France about who finished 87th in last years rally if one actually took place that is ..

I bought the Desmo rack from Battlesbridge classic car show in Essex last year! I know it didn't take part in the rally last year as it was taking me to Work and back every day!

Unless that counts as a rally lol

Here's the original advert on here by myself THIS year!

Cool

There was no RALLYE HISTORIQUE LES ALPES in 2012,2013 or 2014. It will be run in 2015 in a shorter and cheaper format.

Default info please

Hello Andy

I've just seen your Beware post on here and was just looking for some more information.

My husband is going to look at LTC 785K on Monday with the intent to buy, but now I've seen your post I am a little concerned.

Could you please give me some more information on the vehicle from what you know.

Not really concerned about the said 'rallying' it was supposed to have as we just wanted a clean, well running cheap classic but any other info would be appreciated.

Kind regards
Shirley Smith, tried PMing you but I have only just joined and need 30 posts before I can do that.

In my opinion; if your husband wants a decent useable classic then this is it; however, the £3000 price tag would SUGGEST that the alleged rallye history is bolstering that asking price.

To put it another way; if I wanted a lovely useable classic electric guitar then I'd happily pay £1000. But if someone was trying to sell me the same guitar CLAIMING it was used by Jimi Hendrix and upped the price accordingly, it no longer becomes good value to me. Unless of course I believe the seller on the provinance

In summary; it APPEARS the price is increased because of the rallye history
