S60 Suspension: - black paint 4 suspension

Soon to do some suspension rebuilding and was wondering if anyone has suggestions for a good paint that will keep rust at bay after some kurust, or at least is a bit flexible for things like springs ?

I've used black hammerite stonechip spray paint before now which is easy to apply,flexible and has anti-rust properties so pretty much ticks all the boxes.

Thanks very much for the suggestions, the POR (now i figured out the abbreviations) 😁
seems to have some mixed reviews as usual with this with this kinda thing you dont find out until a few months or (hopefully) years have passed, so it was interesting to see a test along these lines.. could the poor result be down to not stirring it enough? how long does it take to dry btw ? certainly not cheap paint.. but does it keep the rust at bay?

Kurust and a a coat of hammerite paint is sufficient in my experience although I've never used it on springs, only solid parts

I have no experience of the other stuff though so couldn't offer any sort of comparison

My son discovered POR 15 about 10 years ago when he was doing a last nut and bolt restoration on his XR3I convertible - the underside still looks good. I have subsequently used it and find it better than Hammerite. One big advantage of POR 15 is that it cures in damp conditions, therefore keeping winter work progressing instead of waiting for warm weather.

POR 15 ( something I must admit I'd never heard of before!) sounds like the dogs whatzits when used/applied correctly in terms of rust protection - but I'd be wary of using it on anything other than flat panels. Trying to undo nuts and bolts on suspension and other components when you have previously used something that sticks so well to protect them from rust looks like a recipe for turning a 'nuts and bolts' job of parts replacement to one requiring angle grinders & drills!
If anyone used it I'd love to know how they went on with subsequent parts replacement.
