A properly mapped VAG TDi is an absolute sledge hammer of an engine.

My Mum had a 170TDi A3 Quattro remapped to 205BHP and 415NM after she got rid of her Superchipped Leon FR 150TDi, it also had the EGR blanked, mildly breathed on Turbo and the DPF removed so it was probably pushing out a bit more than the quoted 205/415, that was an astonishingly quick point to point car and it would still do 60+ MPG.

BHP is largely irrelevant when talking about Diesels, Skyship, you should know this, i would imagine your 115BHP 1.9D would easily outrun my 136BHP petrol V40 in a straight line.

Annoyingly there are no maps for the 2.0 N/A Petrol, its a perfectly acceptable unit for the Car but a bit more Go wouldn't go amiss

Im pretty sure its the 102, as that is what it comes up with when i put the reg in on comparison sites. They made a 102bhp and 115bhp model of the S40's in 2002/2003, but i think the V40's only had 115bhp models (from an old sales book i read).

With diesels you can 2 remaps, and eco one and power one, plus its different on all cars, some get less gains than others. Mine would get a 20% gain on the eco one, which would make quite a difference, and up to 15% more economy, but more like 5-10%, still, thats an extra 5mpgish on motorway driving. Would probably be worse in town, but thats because of the grin factor!

unfortunately, remapping is a while away, as my current insurance wont let me do anything (even if its for better economy), so im going to wait till it expires and go with someone like AF.

Although... ive been looking at getting a new exhaust (want a twin pipe) so if i decide ill get it, then i will do that before its remapped, else i would have to remap it again. But, sometimes it feels like their is a lack of power being put down (maybe the clutch is slipping?) so if that happens, then that could throw a spanner in the works as far as money goes for goodies. but anyway, its all about 8 months away or so, although i have already started scouting companies to get it remapped at, still trying to get a verdict on viezu, old reviews don't seem to like them, but down here (in the audi scene atleast) lots of people like them.

Edit: oh and its the same engine, from what i can tell its just a different turbo, and i guess ecu to accommodate that turbo)

They made V40's 102 and 115 bhp, one below,

I have owned both models, there really is not difference between them, well 13 bhp, I will try and put up the links for the different turbo's'

Shameless plug...

I had a look and there seems to be different exhaust parts for the two cars, but they did not have any model numbers, so my guess is its marketing for some of these parts (same product sold under two names to help the lazy buyer), the turbo is the only thing with a different product name i have found, but what do i know... a Volvo mechanic might be a good guy to ask!

Maybe when i ring up Rufe for parts next ill ask.
