Question speedo/odometer

The transmission service required light has not come on now for several journeys! I was trying to work out how many miles i had covered since I last reset to fault code, when I realised that the odometer reads in km but the speedo is mph! I can get actual vehicle speed in mph, but average is quoted in kmph and the fuel consumption is given in l/100km ( I am quite used to this having spent most of the last 13 years in Australia)
Is this normal or could it be something associated with the vehicle speed sensor error that comes up on the OBD11 readings.
