Default 360 on e-bay - pricey but good!

Can't believe that no-one has noticed this one, or are you all saving it for yourselves!

OK, bit pricey, but blimey, what condition.

If it were 100 miles closer..........Also decided that if I am going to spend this sort of money, I will do so on the 440.

Still, looks a bloomin cracker from the ad!

As usual, not my car, no connection with seller etc

Good luck

Noticed it pretty much straight away, but I have no space (curse you 760) but one day...

Oh BTW there was a metallic blue 82 GLS on www.carandclassic.co.uk but it has now gone. It was on there for about 3 months for £3000!

Plus the price of 300s seems to have risen quite a bit over the last year, this is the 2nd cheapest tax and tested 360 I've seen for a while.

the recent " Professional respray" puts me right off , rust coming through, laquer peeling after 18 months ... There is no reason at all why the original paint wouldnt be 100% even on a 360 of this age ( I know , i had one ) ... ask why the WHOLE car was resprayed ..

No sale at £1200......so immediately re-listed as no reserve auction, no surprise there then!!

Be interesting to see what happens now........

I hadn't spotted the bit about the respray. The profile of the front wheelarches looks odd to me...and some of the paint looks orange-peely.

I strongly suspect it had various bits of rust all over, to the point that only all-over paint would do. Whether or not it's an issue depends on the quality of the work, but I would inspect it extremely carefully!

cheers

James

Absolutely James. It doesn't entirely surprise me that a full re-spray was carried out, my 440 really could do with one as the original paint isn't that great despite not been mucked about with.

We all know that usually a 300 of this vintage "should" have a rusty front valance, rear arches, sills.......etc!

As you say, it rather depends how well the (undoubtably required) remidial work under the new paint was carried out.

Still, it is a (now pretty rare) 360 saloon in decent enough looking condition, and a nice colour combination.

By the way, I have now put a bid on - at a price I would like to pay and no more taking the above into account - so you never know!

Regards as always,

So I've been outbid - I put £740 on it btw - and I'm not going any higher!

Really interested to see what this goes for now......!

It looks like a good car but I too would be concerned about it having a respray, I'd want to give it a closer look in the metal before I'd bid. The front wing on the passenger side where it meets the front valance looks potentially suspect to me. I'd want to make sure the car isn't full of filler and a looker for 12 months til all the rust starts showing through again...

Very interesting car though for me as my family's first Volvo was a 345GL in this colour. I hated it at the time but I think time has been good and I rather like it now!

2 hours left and it's £800 let's hope it's not a drifter.
