XC90 D5 163 - Intake manifold intake hose wet
Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far!
So, this is the current state of the hose to the intake manifold on my XC90 D5 163 (183,000 miles).
Any advice is much appreciated. |

I'll give it a clean and see how things go from there. I was kind of hoping I had found the source of the hissing which I've been hearing, which happens when the engine is stone cold. |

Hmm... I have the exact same noise and I am pretty sure its a vacuum leak. My front engine Mount has gone bad and I am almost certain the leak is from there. Do you also get limp mode when accelerating too hard?
Cheers |

I tried blanking the vacuum supply to the engine mounts to see if the hissing went away, but didn't notice any change in that area (although vibration from the engine was more prominent). Perhaps you could try something similar and report the findings? |

Not sure, haven't had a scan since purchase. Sorry.
Have you gone through the thread below, yet? https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=132550 It's a long read, but very informative. |
