All the CC variants are AWD, it is the V90 that has the option of AWD on some models.

Yes the D4 when coupled with the AWD and higher body has more weight and wind to deal with and at that point the D5 makes more sense.

D4 driving the front wheels with Polestar keeps up just fine with similar vehicles.

As far as I understand, the AWD is the same on all V90 CCs.

Thats right, just that a few non CC V90 owners were chiming in, and the T4/D4 is FWD on those.

I've drove two d5 v90 cc but yet to drive a d4 before choosing. Read in a post about the awd on the d4 to the d5 models. Is the awd setup not the same just a different engine set up?

I’m getting c.27-33mpg in general everyday use from the T6, which for me is usually a mix of small towns, country lanes and single-carriageway A-roads, the latter sometimes requiring fairly spirited overtaking, which hammers the consumption - but only momentarily!
Urban city driving is pretty terrible, c.16-23 which fortunately I don’t do often.
On longer more relaxed mainly motorway runs, it gets into the higher 30s but I’ve only seen 40-plus on those rare downhill sections with a good tailwind!
So perhaps not for the higher mileage driver unless you’ve got deep pockets (or a generous fuel allowance) but - boy, it's fast, really fast!
I suppose the only improvement would be a T8 (even quicker, better economy) but not currently available for the CC, which I need for the ride height - but maybe no great advantage for a mostly rural environment anyway.
Agree about the rotary selector, but I’m just about getting used to it - after over a year!
My only real gripe is (was) the stupid slopey tailgate - a triumph of styling over common sense (compared to the sensible V/XC70) but, again, I’m learning to live with it, so glad I didn’t let it put me off.
Polestar gives the D4 200bhp but it does so much more - see:

I’ve been in a courtesy D4 V90 CC the past week while my D5 XC90 is being repaired. Really enjoy driving it and think the performance is fine, although only been two of us in it. This one is only let down by being basic spec so no heated seats. I had Polestar fitted to my own car. Waste of money in my opinion.

I thought they all came with heated seats as standard?

I find Polestar fixing the only true big issue I've had with the car since I got it. Slow transmission reaction times. Now when I push down the throttle car doesn't wait before switching gears and the engine is MUCH more responsive. I mean really MUCH more. Other than that, the horses are totally unworthy/undetectable. But for me the map is amazing, the price however is too high for the what it is, software upgrade/change. However I would pay it again, because it makes my car's transmission "perfect". Not exactly, but U know what I mean. I also like the way car uses more rear wheel drive now than front. Its noticable on snow/icy roads. Also in turns if you are paying really really much attention, you can feel car is leaning more in corners now, probably due to the way differential works? electronically? or something idk.

Ow, P.S.: I like to take over a lot. So in general for people who drive most in town driving/highway or more slowly/relaxed this mod would be pretty useless. That makes polestar unworthy.

Ignore me. I just checked, the one they’ve lent me is a V60 CC. Nice car though.
