Cool Couple of questions from a new owner!!

Hi, I today took ownership of a 2011 xc90 executive and have a couple of questions if anyone would be so kind as to come back with some input on the following?

1 / Can i stream audio from my phone (htc 10) through bluetooth? If no what options do i have? I am a keen user of Spotify and would love to stream through the new car.

2 / Do i have a subwoofer with the premium audio? Cant see an option to adjust through sound menu.

3 / Should the car have come with a remove for the Volvo rear dvd and/or the main head unit?

Thanks in advance for any input anyone can offer.

Gary and Claire

Hi Gary, welcome to the forum!!

The phone should stream through Bluetooth, as you say. It does on my sXC70.
Select Bluetooth as an option from the media button menu.

Others will help with the sub-woofer and remote answers. Good luck with the car!!

The REMOVE option for the rear DVD and main head unit is available free of charge:
Park your car overnight in undesirable areas of a major city and you will find that the REMOVE option has been provided for you.

Seriously:
Yes, there is a REMOTE control for the following (one each):
  • Navigation system (normally supplied with vehicle)
  • Audio system (always was an optional extra)
  • Rear Entertainment System (supplied with vehicle)

I have all 3.
As long as the key is in the ignition, the rear seat passengers can control the entire audio and DVD and navigation system using remote controls.

Go into the audio menu to adjust Bass/Treble/Balance/Fader.

On a car with Subwoofer, this menu also contains Subwoofer

If no menu item is present, the subwoofer is not fitted.

I think the 2011 XC90 Bluetooth was for phone only, but please consult the owner's manual

If no streaming possible, then you can use the AUX port on the stereo system with an AUX cable to your phone or a Bluetooth streaming receiver connected to the AUX port.

I use both cable sometimes and Bluetooth streaming receiver at other times.

Thanks for the info. Might try and source Nav and Rear DVD remotes on Ebay. In fairness audio sounds fantastic anyway without a sub. Might just put a phone holder on dash and use aux as you say. That way i can still retain use of the phone for calls....

Apologies for Typo....

Turn the right audio button and if there is a BT option (bluetooth) you can sellect it and stream from your phone.

The 2011 model year will not sytream from Bluetooth (I think the 2012 did)
Plug a USB lead into the glove compartment USB socket and Spotify should play via that (it does with an iphone anyway). Otherwise use the aux in in the armrest..
There is no subwoofer you can have one fitted if you don't have rear air conditioning
I don't have RSE

My 2011 (61 Plate) can stream audio through Bluetooth. As nu11eaf said, just turn the selector to BT, and you can stream from the connected phone.

Also, the steering wheel controls work for changing track etc.
