Default Gearbox shaft seal

Hi can someone please tell me where I can get a gearbox shaft seal from. It is a 244 1979 manual 4 speed. Its the shaft that connects to the propshaft. On the old seal is Stefa 39.4x 52x 9 32782. Thanks Mike

Is it an overdrive box as the title suggests?

If it's got the Laycock overdrive as used in 740s, my post here may be useful:

https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...=M46+overdrive

Please note if it's not got the same overdrive unit it's unlikely to be the same seal, as I believe that overdrive unit has imperial specs rather than metric. If the numbers you've posted are the dimensions it's not the same.

Thanks for that, the gearbox isn't an overdrive. Hopefully someone will know where to get one.

The M46 uses the J-type overdrive I think, used in lots of British cars.
A quick google for that produced lots of suppliers of the output shaft oil seal.

Nobody reading the first post. It's a 4 speed box and no mention of overdrive.

I do have full seal kits in stock.

If you can not see them on my site give me a call and I will sort a kit for you

Mislead by the thread title.
It appears to say M46, which is 4-speed plus overdrive.

Those thread titles do often lead to confusion hence why I usually ignore them but not always
