Lightbulb XC90 Main Beam - Fault

Hi All,

I had xc90 return from MOT. All was well until we tried turning Main Beam on. They did not work. When searching simply found response relating to the correct positioning of the lights control switch (dipped, off and auto) and ensuring was in correct position. We know this and it wasn't that.
Checked fuses, check bulbs and checked wiring. Volvo quoted 280 for a wiring check as fault was not obvious.
Local garage could not find fault.
What I found odd was the blue light on dash did not flash when we pulled the stalk.
I found a youtube clip of someone pulling out indicator stalk - this was relatively easy. If need more info on this do ask.
I removed the stalk and looked at the switch mechanism. It was broken, a small white clip had broken, I believe due to being over stretched or pulled. I have super glued for now and wrapped some cotton round it and glued it again - only small space to could not glue anything more substantial.
Will try and find a part online now I have part number.
I am soooo pleased was able to fix this - and didn't have a hefty bill. I am unsure how was broken.
Wanted to post this as I found so many solution on here before - wanted to post incase anyone else had this

The indicator stalk on out 2003 159k mile XC90 just snapped and came out.

Not sure if superglue will fix this, but it seems a secondhand stalk on ebay is only about £15 and I found a video on youtube that show it is easy to replace.

I am struggling to find the price for a new one.
