  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default auto selector light

should the p.r.n.d.1.2.3 be lit up on a 99 v70??

mines just got a orange indicator to show what gear your in but it dusnt light up in the dark..

if the bulbs gone, how do i get it apart to replace the bulb?

It's not as difficult as it looks. I've just done mine and it only took 15 mins.

I'd say that if you had someone to help hold the console up you don't have to unplug the white connectors mentioned in the above guide.

Tip - check the new bulb works before putting everything back together.

I had to get my mum to hold the rear of the centre console up while I changed the bulb and it was a bit fiddly getting the console back in correctly but they were the hardest bits - and they weren't hard at all.

were did you get the new bulb from and how much?

Volvo dealer, was £3.74 inc vat and part number was 30710781. It comes as one piece with the black socket so all you have to do is pull out the black socket from the white socket, replace the bulb then put back in the white socket.

Hard to explain - you'll see when you get the bulb.

BTW the white socket is on the drivers side (One of the guides on here shows it on the left but is an american car).

iv done it... i expected the bulb being a tenner with it being in a case but it was only 3.75..all sorted now and i can see the gears in the dark..

next job is to have the dash out and clean the inside of the clocks cos they`r a bit dim...
