Default High level brake light

Hi all,
Newbee here - I need to ask a question regarding a high level brake light from a v70. I would like to know which pin is + and which ground.
The socket is at one end of the unit, if you can tell me if the nearest to end pin is the + or - that would be great - I'm fitting it onto something else and hence don't have the usual connector for it!
Thanks!

I dont think it makes any difference as the light body should be of non-metal construction.
Therefore, which ever way it is connected, the current cant earth and must complete a circuit through the l.e.d's.

Thanks - but I'm sure that led's have to be wired the right way around...unless there's some circuitry that takes care of the polarity inside.

Thaught the diodes were wired in series, and shouldnt require any polarity correction unless there is a connection to earth through the light casing.

Thanks - likely the leds are wired in series as you say, but all leds have to be wired the correct way around - of that I'm certain (unless some extra ciruitry before the leds takes care of routing the polarity regardless of which way you plug the connector in, but I think the connector can only go one way...a pity I don't have it!). I couldn't get the lense with circuit board to come out...if I could I would be able to look and see how it should be wired. Maybe I'll try again.
