ETM Issues Discuss issues regarding the problems with ETMs fitted to Volvo cars.

Information
  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

Hi guys, first post and all that

I was just wondering have I got one of these dreaded dodgy etm????

I Have the chassis number will that tell me if I do or do not.

Mid 2002 first registered.

the one on the left is the 'newer' Bosch unit (if you have one of these the ETM is not the issue)

if you have the one on the right (Magnetti), these are the failing units, if this is the one you have check the sticker color, white is original, yellow means its been repaired at some point... (i think)

Do they both say Volvo?? I see the Bosch one does, does the other?

Just had a good nose around the engine bay, and it seems I have the Bosch one thanks guys.
