the backlight is driven by CAN to be has the same intensity as the rest. so you have to have a proper PHM version (there are at least 3 types), it has to be connected and also enabled in CEM. and if you do it then you have maybe more then falf to make it fully working.

at the moment i would not recommend to use VDASH to update the module. it is not works well.

I'm a car electrician with some experience with Volvo vehicles...
