Big fan of Volvo need XC70 or V70 on a budget
Hi
Since 20014 I own volvo s60 d5 2002 and i am a big fan of VOLVO. I am planning within a year to buy estate either V70 or XC70 (i heard XC90 are troublemakers) There are a lot of people with great knowledge onthis forum so could you please help me: 1: would you choose V70 or XC70 i can afford 3k pounds max so probably up to 2007 year - which are more robust or more fun to drive? 2: is XC70 suspension not a money pit since it is rather complicated? 2: how to diagnose a car - shall i use Autel MD802 for live data to capture any errors? 3: how long does normally clutch last on these volvos - i've heard that some cars can drive up to 200k miles on original clutch - is this true? 4: how long would turbo normally last 5: what are other expensive parts worth checking before buying? 6: would you buy volvo with over 200k mileage for very cheap and put some money in rather than look for 150k which is much more expensive Many thanks for any advice |

Just about to go to sleep but on point 6, I'd go for something higher mileage and cheaper over lower miles every time. Depends entirely how much work you're able/prepared to do yourself. If you go this route just make sure to find something cheap enough to make it worth fixing any issues you may find. We paid £695 for our S80 with 190k needing electrical repairs/power steering pump/CV joint/rear dampers and a few other niggles but overall it drives like it's been well looked after with smooth engine/gearbox and clutch (until the master cylinder died earlier lol but that's what I mean about being prepared to spend money on it and do work yourself).
