DEFECTIVE V70 THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR .
My vehicle has covered 162000 and is fitted with the dual Magneti Marelli sensors which have been getting steadily worse over the past several months to the extent that the ETM light is permanently on the engine hunting and no to little acceleration .
I have heard that the old sensors can be upgraded to the 1 Electronic version made by SACER and wondered if anybody could advise me if anybody in the Brentwood /Billericay Essex area who could fit the new sensor AND/OR if they could are easy to fit yourself and provide details of how .

I assume that I'm not the first person to ask but have been unable to find the thread on the site so any help would be of great help as I'm unable to use my vehicle .
Many Thanks

I had mine repaired by this guy.

I did hear he has stopped doing the TPS but as he is close to you worth asking and he may be able to point you to somewhere else.

Easy to fit except for one cable which is routed behind the starter and requires bracketry to be unbolted to free it.

The one fitted on mine I purchased off e-bay and came with fitting instructions, fairly straight forward job although you will need a soldering iron and as saidyou need to move starter motor to get the cable plug past, when I re-installed mine I simply replaced starter and led the cable and its plug in front of it rather than behind it.

Before re-fitting the new part I filed a small groove in the plastic of it so the wire wouldn't be crushed between the TPS and throttle body itself[you'll get the idea when you have the throttle body in your hand.I didn't seal the electrical connectors as such just ran a bead of silicone around the edge of the TPS to throttle body joint. It was either last year or year before when I did mine[can't remember when-time flies so much these days]and it's still running perfectly well.
