Default 1967 - P130 restoration in Norway.

Just learned that the car is called 130 and not 121 LOL.

This would be a post where this car would be shown as received/bought, taken apart (current state) and rebuild. So there would be quite a few pics and some thoughts on what to do and not do.

The history of the car is :
Bought in 67 by my grandfather which was a carpenter. He drove the car to Sweden shortly after and had the gearbox changed from a manual 3 speed to a 4 speed. Original receipt for buying the car and full service history is in the "glove compartment" :-)

After his passing in cancer his son got the car (my uncle) and he took care of it some years before he left in the same disease.

I bought the car 10΄ish years ago and thought it was a pretty clean car with not that much rust. I thought ....... It has OK looks but now after many years in the garage and starting to tinker with it, there is quite a bit to take care of.

First some pics of the car when I picked it up.

To be continued ....

NOTE: I'm unable to reply to PMs until I have made 30 posts...

Default Interior

Front seats pretty damaged and dirty - and worn down. Back seat been resting with a cover over it for many years - how it looked when taken off would be shown in later posts.

Default Engine bay

Car has done 105 000Km or something (from memory) on the dials, so not that much used. This was in a area where they did not put salt on the roads during the winter time and my grandfather had the car covered with "Techtyl" underneath to seal the underside from the environment.

Note the "Hybrid cord" also on my engine - as shown on the "PV in Holland" post :-)

Last pic of the "how it looked" - more would come with some unfortunate discoveries.

To be continued.

Default Tow Bar

Tow bar has always been on the car since the car has been used to tow wood. In practical terms, I think this is part of the reason for the trunk rotten so badly..

EDIT: Anyone who can guide me on how to get the pics full size in post so it pop up immediately and not as a attachment ?

Good car, congratulations.
The rubber mats are worth a fortune.
The rust issue in trunk will notake be affected by the tow bar. Your grandfather will have transport the wet tools inside the trunk.
A 1967 Amazone will not beven with a 3 speed gearbox originally. Maybe he swapped from 4 speed to 4 speed plus overdrive.
Nice colour combo too.
Good luck, Kay

It's possible that the car is a Favorit, hence the original 3 speed box. I note that there is no door pocket and the side trim strip going to the rear window is different. What is the type number on the plate? The one starting with P?

Default Type of car

Thanks for the comments.

Derek is spot on - this is a "Favorite" - code is 131211M
13 - two door P130
1: B18A
2: Standard version (Favorite)
1: M30 - 3 speed manual gearbox (Favorite)
1: Left hand driven.

Regarding the rot in the trunk , I have two theories :

1- The rear of the trunk har been drilled with 6 (or was it 8) big bolts in the rear section of the trunk. In addition the tow bar was fixated to the rear bumper bolts. The section around the holes is completely rotten - I can peal large "biscuits" of metal in this exact section of the trunk. So theory 1 is that these bolts has not kept the water out and the water has leaked in and been having a fun time there over the years.

2- The rubber seal around the gass filler was worn out for years. He never changed this and water has dripped passed this and down in the area of the screws for the tow bar. The strange thing is that the gasstank is rusted...

I'm in the mountains using my laptop with no pictures on but pics showing this section would follow...

Regarding the rubber mat - I was completely un-aware that the rubber mat was such a precious thing. After restoration the idea was to use carpets since the car would only be used during the summer, but guess I should consider using the rubber mat and then some thinner carpets over.

The door panels is actually more to my liking than the ones with the pockets. In my eyes it makes the car looking "cleaner" and I would either recover the old ones with new vinyl or trying to dye the vinyl again. The rear seat looks fantastic except for the top part facing the back window which has been affected by the sun.

Front seats would be changed for some 80s Recaro seats which would be re-done with original seat covers. Think this would look pretty cool. The Recaros I got my hands on was the dream seats in the 80s and really happy I managed to score 2 of these.

Pics would follow, happy Easter :-)

Default Trunk rott

Having a mobile phone with some pics helps ;-)

Here is some pics of the double section where the rear lid locks on the trunk. In between these two panels there was a LOT of crap so I cut away the inner section (partly) since this was completely loose at the floor area.

Opening up you can see how bad it was...
