Mitchy,

Looks great, the mutts nuts as the saying goes !

Quick question for you. Am looking at new V70 SE, have not been able to find one in a showroom to see this for myself. What is the space around the pedals like and is there a 'proper' foot rest for the left foot when away from the clutch pedal?

Thanks

There is plenty of space around the pedals (I am only a size five, but didn't notice any space problems).

However, I don't think there was a foot rest. Funny that, I didn't notice one, I will check and let you know if it is any different. The R design does have different pedals to the standard, so I am not sure if this makes a difference.

Good luck in your search.

Avtur - there is plenty of room around the pedals ( I test drove the new A4 Avant and was shocked by the lack of room and offset pedals - really bad design and obviously not thought through for RHD cars). There is no footrest in the manual though.
I thought this would be a real irritation but, to be honest, it isn't and in the 6 weeks I have had the car I have enjoyed every minute of it.

All the best,
Mark.

I can't resist!! But your from Hull - your benchmark of pleasure is set very low

My old manager was from Hull - and he won't have a nice word said about the place!!!

Well Dodgyken you're probably right - there's nothing better than having a low benchmark for pleasure. It makes things more enjoyable to me than most! Hull usually splits opinion in two as many love it and some hate it but I fall into the first camp. Sure, it has faults like any other city but most people who criticize have never been or have only seen the worst parts.
I bet your old manager was a miserable git. I've met plenty like him with a chip on their shoulder the size of the Humber Bridge and think that when they move away they suddenly have a right to slag off everything they have left in an attempt to make them feel superior.
Hell - listen to me, I'm getting carried away now!!!

Rather happy chap actually.

He grew up in Hull - and had fond memories - but he went back to see friends a few years back - and check out where he grew up. He was disgusted by it's decline - which is why he won't have a nice thing said about it.

Oh well - each to their own. It has changed quite a lot in the last few years with some regeneration so if he visited again he may be suprised.

Wow i just ordered mine today as it goes
Ive gone for the Blue.
I too noticed all new cars are grey / silver or dark silver and wanted the burgandy but they dont do the R design in it.
Nearly went for red to be fair
I too ordered the bluetooth pack and winter pack as it goes

I couldnt see the bluetooth tested how does it work ?
interested in the MPG as well as the only V70 they had on demo was the 2.4 and the drivE

Hi there, we're are getting 39.5 mpg from our's so far. Blue tooth works perfectly with DH's phone and my old phone, but will not work at all with my LG, so I have had to swap back to an older handset. Bizarre but true!

The heated seats are lovely, and I love the general feeling of luxury about the car.

To buy the car in the timescale we wanted we only had a limited choice of colours, and from those we had the silver was our favourite. It looks great, and I don't think it will go out of fashion.
