if the warning light is on at test it will fail, the light is also tested for correct operation,ie goes out after a set time,so you cant take the bulb out

Unless it's a diesel then you can link it to the glow plug light!! I did this for years on a Citroen XM Estate

Default ABS Light

Mine failed on this, I followed the thread on the site re cutting it up and re-soldering, I know it sounds scary but it is a piece of cake and it'll save you £'ssss

You will be best off to read the codes....
What year is your car?....
ECM failures are generally common on the phase 2, so if yours is a early model it may not be the ECM AND you can read your own codes!!

Later models are often ECM but the pedal sensor is another problem....
Cheers

On the XM's the light came on whenever it started and the idea worked like a charm for years!! I had two instrument panels one for normal use and one for MOT time!!!

Nice one.....

I suppose it is not impossable to link from the ignition thru a timer relay to cut after say 5 seconds..
Tho this will not resolve the fact that your abs does not work...

Many thanks
