C70 Stereo Question
Hi everyone, two days ago I bought a lovely 2000 2.4 C70 Coupe and just run into a little bit of bother. Inside it's got a great double DIN 3CD changer and tape deck see (thumbnail 1 and 2)
but unfortunately it doesnt play self burned CD's which is a problem for me because I buy all my music online for my iPod and copy to CD when I need to. Now I do have a normal single DIN MP3 CD player and today I went to fit it using a dash fascia from one of my previous cars a Volvo 850 saloon. This all fits fine so I thought I would try using the ISO adapter that I bought for the 850, but this is only half successful. It powers the new unit up and puts the ariel up and down ok but thats about it, there's no sound coming out of the speakers. Now I assume it has some sort of built in AMP somewhere and I counted 8, maybe 10 speakers so also guess it's some sort of premium system? Just wondering if anyone know's if I can buy an ISO lead adapter that will work with this system or will I have to get the soldering iron out and make a few changes! lol. Sorry for the long post everybody and Mods if this is in the wrong section I apologise. I've also included some extra pictures for reference if it helps, just click on them for the full size. Cheers guys, Dave |

Have a read of this thread - http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...=c70+head+unit
Should clear it up for you but basically, you need to make up or purchase a din lead that plugs into the pre amp outputs on your new head unit.

If you wanted to keep the sc901 you could fit a 6 disc changer, often found on ebay, in the boot (i think your car may be pre-wired) as these normally handle cdr's...not had a problem playin mine.

8pin mini DIN is for the factory cd changer. Larger plug is for power connections Smaller one IIRC is for security light No speaker out connections for SC901, except the green plug for center channel output. DIN to amp, amp to speakers. I also do not see the Dolby sound processor DIN cable in any of the pictures.
